Two fairs for olive oil and Cretan products in Chania

Two major fairs – the 9th Festival of Olive Oil and the Olive, and the 6th Let’s Treat Greece Festival (Kername Ellada) – are to be held on 23rd, 24th and 25th February at the Exhibition Centre at Agia. According to a press release:

“The Festival of Olive Oil and the Olive, the biggest show in Greece devoted to olive oil and table olives, is being organised for the ninth time, this time in Crete.

“The most important olive-related event in Greece, it should attract mass attendance by olive growers, consumers and oil mills, and all those interested in getting to know the excellent quality of Greek olive products. For the first time in Greece, the Festival will attract participants from more than 10 different countries who will present new technologies in olive production. Concurrently with the Festival, the 9th Scientific Congress for the Olive and Olive Oil will be held.

“The Let’s Treat Greece Festival, which is an institution devoted to promoting the unique qualities of the region’s agri-food products and showing off its gastronomy, is being organised for the 6th year. Sharing the same exhibition space, the Festival will present innovations in the agricultural field and agricultural equipment, as well as products, services and gastronomy based on olive oil. Also taking place at the same time will be the Local Agenda Olive Forum and the Olive Oil Gastronomy Forum.

“The Festival will attract not only the specialised trade public, but also thousands of consumers and connoisseurs, as it has been established as the most important institution in the field of certified Greek products, with more than 60,000 participants in the past five years. The exhibition area covers 4,000 square metres and more than 500 exhibitors have taken part.
