The 3rd Chania Alternative Tourism Festival will take place from the 16th to the 18th May 2025 in Katechaki Square (next to the Mikis Theodorakis Theatre) on the old port in Chania. As part of the festival, on Saturday 17th May at 6.0 pm, the first Domestic Wine Competition will be held, giving amateur winemakers the chance to show off their own wine and present it to the public and to experts.
Participation is strictly reserved for non-professional wine producers of dry white, red or rosé wine, produced in or after 2021, purely for personal or family use, without labelling or commercial availability.
Interested parties can deliver a sample of 1 litre of their wine from 28th April to 7th May at the Municipality of Chania’s Tourist Office, on the first floor of the city hall. Each sample must be accompanied by information relating to the region, the grape variety and the year of production.
The wines will be sampled during the course of the Festival, while judging will be carried out by a special panel of wine producers and sommeliers, as well as by the public. Prizes and special mentions will be given at the end of the process. Statements of participation will be accepted up to Wednesday 30th April 2025, by email to entoukakis@chania.gr or by phone at 28213 41626.
