The tourist season in Western Crete is starting as early as the end of March, according to a survey of airlines and tour operators by Haniotika Nea (06-03-23). In the major tourist areas of both Platanias and Georgioupoli some big hotels will be in operation from the end of March, echoing the pre-Covid era, since in 2020 the tourist season basically started in July, in 2021 in June and in 2022 in May.
