Forthcoming power cuts in Chania and Platanias

The national grid maintenance company, DEDDIE, is undertaking substantial construction and maintenance works in the Chania and Platanias areas over the coming week and has issued the following timetable. (This edited list is reproduced from Haniotika Nea, and does not include some outlying areas. An updated list can be accessed at any time on the DEDDIE website at https://siteapps.deddie.gr/outages2public. See also update below.) The cuts start on Sunday in Chania, and on Monday in the Tavronitis area, later extending along the coast as far as Drapanias.

1. Sunday 28/09/25, from 08:15 to 15:00 in the following streets:
Chania: Giampoudaki (Stoupaki bakery) – Stefanou Xanthoudidou to junction with Konstantinou Malinou – Dimakopopulou – Giorgiou Hatzidaki – section of Ioannou Sfakianaki from junction with Xanthoudidou – section of Igoumenou Gavriil and all parallel and cross streets.

2. Monday 29/09/25
a. from 06:00 to 11:00 in the following areas:
Tavronitis (Kekate, Gonalakis Kamisiana, DEYAVA, Closed Gymnasium, former Tavronitis KTEO) – Vlacheronitissa – Polemarchi – Syrili – Chrysavgi – Pontikiana – Vouves – Neradzia – Zounaki – Xamoudochori – Limni – Deres – Katsigaraki poultry farm – Maleme: Paraskakis, Maleme Beach.
b. from 08:00 to 10:00 in the following streets:
Chania: 8is Dekemvriou – Dragoumi – part of Krokida at the junction with Iroon Polytechniou.

3. Tuesday 30/09/25
a. from 06:00 to 11:00 in the following areas:
Kolymbari, area of sports ground – Minothiana – Rapaniana (Ηotel Giannoulis [Cavo Spada], Doudoulakis, Kostaridakis) – Kamisiana up to Debla of Tavronitis and all parallel and cross streets,
b. from 08:00 to 11:00 in the following areas:
Pazinos [near Chania airport] (area of Tachydomi, KTEO, NAMFI main site).

4. Wednesday 01/10/25
a. from 06:00 to 11:00 in the following areas:
Drapanias beach – Nopigia – Ravdoucha – Rodopou – Afrata – Nochia – Vasilopoulo – Deliana – Panethimos – Sfakopygadi – Malathyros – Kolymbari Cooperative, area of sports ground – Spilia – Marathokefala – Darmarochori – Drakona – Minothiana – Episkopi – Kares – Vasiliana.
b. from 08:30 to 15:00 in the following areas:
Gavalochori (village centre).

5. Thursday 02/10/25
a. from 06:00 to 11:00 in the following areas:
Maleme – Xamoudochori – Pyrgos Psilonerou – Kontomari – Xirokampi – Kyparissos – Gerani – Gerani meadows, DEYAVA sewage works – Manoliopoulo – Loutraki – Psathogiannos – Babiolo.
b. from 08:30 to 14:30 in the following areas:
Kournas (from Lake to village entrance).

6. Friday 03/10/25 from 06:00 to 11:00 in the following areas:
Agia Marina (Progouli, Fantridakis,Vlamakis, Nikakis Agia Marina, Mania oil mill) – DEYAVA Agia Marina – Kapakis A.X.E.T.E. – Funny Land – Porto Platanias – Upper Platanias (Almyras N. Mathioudakis, Platanias Pumping Station).

7. Saturday 04/10/25 from 06:00 to 13:00 in the following areas:
Galatas (Vakakis Eft., Lionis M.) – Stalos – Agia Marina to border with Platanias.

8. Sunday 05/10/25
a. from 06:00 to 08:00 in the following areas:
Pithari from Olympion Rehabilitation Centre – Kounoupidiana, Sklavenitis Supermarket, SYNKA Supermarket – Agios Onoufrios: Fuel Store, DEYACH Pumping Station and the whole of the settlement of Agios Onoufrios.
b. from 08:00 to 11:00 in the following areas:
Kampani – Horafakia – Tersanas – Stavros.
