The new Mournies junction open to traffic

After nine years of intermittent works the Mournies junction, together with 1,300 metres of new dual carriageway running towards the city centre, was opened to traffic on Wednesday 27th March. The work has not been entirely completed, as pavements and lighting still remain to be installed on a section of the road.

Changes in traffic arrangements at Mournies

New routing arrangements for traffic using the Mournies junction have been announced by the Crete Development Organisation. They will be in force between 4th December and 15th December 2023. The changes, which are to allow further construction work on the new road, are as follows:
