The Municipal Port Authority of Chania have specified the number of sites available for open-air trading in 2026. According to a recent announcement, the concession lasts until 31st December 2026 and payment of the annual fee is due in its entirety within 5 days of the issue of each permit by the Authority’s Management Board.

The number and situation of the pitches remain the same as for 2025. Also according to the announcement, permit holders are obliged:
1. To sell only the goods which are specified and by the means specified in their permit.
2. To conduct their activity at the site specified in the permit.
3. To maintain the display materials for their goods in good condition and according to the conditions laid down for the issuing of the permit.
4. Not to use gas or other dangerous or inflammable materials, as they do not comply with the safety rules.
5. To comply promptly with the advice and recommendations of authorised bodies.
6. To respect the market, health and safety, fiscal and security obligations relating to the exercise of their activities.

7. Not to fix tables, counters or other objects permanently to the ground.
8. To respect the general and specific conditions attached to the concession.
9. Not to occupy greater or different space to that granted.
10. Not to hinder the smooth operation of the other activities being conducted on the land side of the harbour.
11. To maintain the cleanliness and good aesthetic appearance of the space allotted to them and to take all necessary measures to avoid causing accidents.
12. Not to conduct their activities on board ships so long as they do not have the required permit.
13. To promptly vacate their pitch if the Harbour Administration or the Municipal Port Authority of Chania judges that they are hindering the smooth operation of the harbour.
