Further to our two recent posts on the subject of the obligation of property owners to clear their land of extraneous vegetation before the start of the no-fires season, the government has now announced an extension of the deadline from 30^th April to 15^th June. This is welcome news since, apart from taking the pressure off property owners, it also is a reprieve for the many wildflowers which currently decorate the countryside and which are no doubt a haven for all kinds of wildlife and therefore contribute to the much prized biodiversity.
