Cretan wines are gaining ground in the international markets, it was stated at the OiNotika 24 wine fair held on the weekend of 24-25th February. In the last few years Cretan wineries have seen continuous growth, with the USA and the UK seen as major targets for export. More than 35 wineries with over 400 labels took part in the fair at the Avra Imperial Hotel in Kolymbari, offering visitors a panoramic sampling of wines from all across the island.

OiNotika wine fair returns to Kolymbari
OiNotika 24, the 16th in the series of wine fairs organised by Wines of Crete, will be held this coming weekend at the Avra Imperial Hotel in Kolymbari. Visitors will be able to sample both new and old vintages from 35 Cretan wineries, to talk to the winemakers and to find out about the other promotional activities of Wines of Crete. There will also be a sales counter where Cretan wines can be bought at a nominal price, with part of the proceeds going to the Orizontas volunteer association.
